## User Challenges

Many solar apps confuse users with cluttered data, unclear metrics, and no real-time insights. Users struggle to understand energy flow, battery status, and overall system performance efficiently.

## Key Pain points

### Fragmented Energy Data

Users struggle to get a clear overview of solar production vs. consumption in one place.

### Poor Feedback on Efficiency

Battery status and environmental benefits aren’t visualized well, leading to reduced user engagement.

### Confusing Navigation

Switching between solar, grid, and battery sources is often unclear, making real-time analysis difficult.

## Project Goals

Our objective was to build a mobile-first dashboard that simplifies how users interpret and act on solar data. We prioritized clarity around energy sources, power trends, and environmental impact to enhance retention and decision-making.

## Focus Areas

### Live Monitoring

Visualize how solar, grid, and battery sources power the home with real-time, easy-to-read data.

### Eco Insight

Display CO₂ savings and solar usage through minimal visuals that encourage daily awareness and motivation.

## Valuable Insights

We collected behavioral data and direct user feedback during the early testing phase of the SolarEdge - Solar Panel Monitoring SaaS Mobile App example to identify gaps in energy visibility, usability, and engagement across solar, grid, and battery monitoring.

## Major Findings

### 61% Of users want centralized metrics

Description: Most users preferred viewing battery level, solar output, and grid usage in one panel to reduce switching friction.

### 44% Feel unclear about eco impact

Description: Users found it difficult to see how much CO₂ they saved or how efficiently their panels worked over time.

## Our Solutions

We designed a unified dashboard that visualizes current power sources (solar, grid, battery), real-time kW flow, and environmental benefits. UI improvements focus on glanceable insights, modular panels, and simplified graph interaction to boost usability.

> We focused on translating system performance into visual elements that users can act on, less about raw data, more about usable insight
