Strategy phase

## Mapping a Fragmented Market

Vexto's position was plotted against Samsara, Optibus, Trimble, Motive, Geotab, Transflo, Lytx and Via across two axes: fragmented legacy tools versus unified AI control, and passive tracking versus insight a dispatcher can actually act on. The open ground sat inside a $68B segment already shifting toward predictive transit control.
Before a single screen was styled, the team agreed on how routes, schedule offsets and vehicle telemetry should relate, making information architecture ux the foundation of the build rather than something applied afterward. A six stage framework carried that structure from first stakeholder goals through a fully scalable, dark mode production system.

Insights from the Field

## Where Dispatch Decisions Stall

The team gathered structured ux research from dispatchers and transit managers working inside high density route networks, rather than relying on assumptions about where the real friction lived.

Key highlights

## Key highlights

### 46% - Late Signal

Incident telemetry reaches a dispatcher only after a schedule deviation has already cascaded into a longer delay.

### 83% - Manual Routing

Share of route adjustments made without live vehicle capacity data in hand, the same gap the five year model shows widening rather than closing on its own.

### 79% - Automation Demand

Of the smart mobility market says it critically needs automation just to hold operational downtime steady, let alone reduce it.

Problem & Solution

## Turning Radio Calls Into Live Data

Three habits kept schedules broken: dispatchers reading delay reports off paper logs, route adjustments made blind to live vehicle capacity, and real risk buried inside averaged metrics instead of flagged at the route level.

> Following our competitor analysis, we designed a dynamic insight system that flags route delays directly on the timeline, eliminating manual radio calls.

## Solutions

### Dynamic Visual Insight System

Predictive markers sit directly on the route timeline, cutting delay evaluation time from 1 minute 15 seconds to 32 seconds, a drop of 72%.

### Real-Time Schedule Offset Card

UX Architect built live schedule pods after dispatcher feedback showed manual tracking wasted hours. Delay evaluation time fell from 8.5 hours to 3.5, a cut of 62%.

### Automated AI Analysis Graph

We mapped individual high-risk nodes instead of relying on averaged metrics. Prediction precision climbed from 41% to 93%, a gain of 52 points.

Dashboard

## One Board for Every Route

The Live Map view puts every vehicle on one board, 24 buses, 100 taxis, 12 trains and 13 trams, with a running online and offline count and operational efficiency sitting at 78.3% against target. A dispatcher opens any vehicle, Bus 6023 or Bus 4120 among them, to see GPS status, connection type and live route position without switching screens.
When a route slips, a warning card surfaces the specifics immediately: a capacity issue on two lines, roughly 180 passengers left behind, which stations are affected, and a direct recommendation to dispatch a reserve vehicle. Schedule offset reads plus or minus 2.5 minutes average variance across tracked routes, so a delay shows as a number instead of a guess.

Mobile app

## Dispatch Without a Desk

Field dispatchers and drivers rarely work from a desk, and 83% of transit operators say they need mobile access built for that reality rather than a shrunk down copy of the desktop screen.
Three tools carry that weight into a phone sized interface.

## Key Features

### Precision Schedule Pods

Condensed pods track long-term passenger demand alongside micro schedule offsets down to ±2.5 minutes across specific routes, lifting schedule adherence 83.4%.

### Fleet Efficiency

A live view of operational efficiency and vehicle connectivity helps managers cut offline downtime, raising mobile dispatch efficiency 64.2%.

### Capacity Pods

Live passenger loads on the map let managers anticipate overcrowding and deploy reserve vehicles before it happens, cutting overcrowding alerts by 52.2%.

Logo Design

## A Mark Built From Motion

Vexto's mark is a field of diagonal dashes compressed into a single square, a form that reads as motion and signal at once rather than a static badge. The wordmark sits beside it inside a fixed 1.25x to 3.25x margin grid, and the icon alone holds up cleanly from a 100px app tile down to 25px.
"Predict. Control. Move." runs underneath as the brand's working thesis, three words that describe the product's actual sequence of operations rather than a line bolted on after the fact.

Typography

## Type Built for Split-Second Reads

Helvetica Neue carries the interface across Light, Regular and Medium weights, chosen for geometry precise enough to hold up inside dense telemetry tables without costing a dispatcher time under pressure.
Structured type scale sped up dispatcher response by 42%, and a second pass on letter spacing and line height lifted data scanning speed a further 54%, proof that type decisions here carry operational weight rather than just visual polish.

Colors

## A Palette That Flags What Matters

Four colors do the work: Critical #FF4747 for anything that needs a dispatcher's attention now, Attention #F39444 for route variances worth a second look, Content #FFFFFF for everything else on screen, and Operational #5EC557 marking a system running as expected.
That restraint measured out to something concrete. Alert visibility rose 67% and route variance recognition sped up 62%, turning color into a working signal system rather than a brand flourish laid over the dashboard.

Branding

## An Identity for the Depot Floor

The mark and its palette move off screen onto an employee ID badge, a stack of business cards and a plain t-shirt, each one carrying the San Francisco headquarters address at 540 Market St and the vexto.io domain.
A field team recognizes the same diagonal mark on a badge, a phone and a control room wall, which matters for a product built on trust between dispatchers who rarely see the software team in person.

Achieved Results

## Measurable Control at Scale

Replacing manual dispatching with structured, real-time telemetry turned a slow, radio-dependent process into one a team can act on in seconds. That shift, from scattered logs to one live system, is a real digital transformation of how a transit operator runs its day.

## Key Outcomes

### +500% - Accelerated Incident Resolution

Achieved by making the telemetry interface radically simpler to read under pressure.

### +56% - Operational Cost Reduction

Thanks to smart, automated schedule analytics replacing manual dispatch review.

> The updated dashboard completely erased our $4M annual losses.

Next Step Strategy

## Ready for the Next Route

With the desktop dashboard, mobile app and brand identity shipped, the roadmap's next marker is localization, extending the same telemetry system into international transit standards. That work treats digital transformation services as an ongoing practice, layering language and regional compliance onto a system that already runs.

> With our system now streamlined, we can scale to global transit networks easily.
