About the project
This case presents the concepts of enterprise applications on a mobile platform made by our designers at Rondesignlab. What started as a single design question, whether enterprise software could feel light on a phone, grew into a seven-concept portfolio that pressure-tests the answer across categories most enterprise tools have never seriously entered.
This case spans collaborative note-taking, AI foot diagnostics, voice-driven finance, portfolio tracking, continuous glucose monitoring, AR subway navigation, and CBD inhaler control. Each concept was built to prove that mobile UX design for enterprise contexts does not mean shrinking a desktop screen. It means rewriting the workflow for a device users open standing up, in a hurry, one thumb at a time. That distinction shaped every design decision inside the project.
Working across seven concepts forced a discipline no single-product study demands. Every product had its own physics, note-taking apps depend on speed of entry, medical apps on accuracy of feedback, finance apps on trust in the data, but the underlying mobile app UI design process stayed consistent across all of them. Patterns tested on one concept fed the next, and the entire set became a working reference for UI UX design for mobile in enterprise contexts.

The larger goal was to prove that best mobile app design in the enterprise category is not the app with the most features. It is the one that respects the user's time most seriously. The 400k views, 5k+ likes, and 200+ comments the series earned in its first year are the community's own answer to that thesis, and the reason Parts 2 and 3 followed.
About GoodNotes Mobile App Design
A note-taking app fails the first time it makes writing feel slower than writing on paper. GoodNotes was designed to keep that gap closed, and the work we contributed focused on structuring collaborative note-taking so the interface disappears the moment the user starts typing, sketching, or planning with a teammate.
Our role centered on visual hierarchy, interaction logic, and the transitions between the small actions that make up a session: writing, editing, organizing, syncing back into a shared canvas. Every screen was tested against a single question. Does this let the user think faster, or make them think about the tool? Consistent UX principles carried through every decision, keeping access simple and giving users a reason to stay in the app past the first quick capture.
Main goal
Define a digital environment where users can write, edit, and collaborate without friction. Reduce cognitive load. Increase note visibility across sessions. Every design choice pointed back at retention and at cutting the drop-off that most note-taking apps quietly bleed after the first week of use.
GoodNotes Mobile App Design UI UX
We designed a modular layout organized around categorized cards like Plan for the Day and Image Notes, giving users a way to scan a full session's worth of content and act on any part of it in seconds. A floating entry button sits within thumb reach at every screen level, keeping the friction between an idea and a new note as close to zero as the interface can push it. Visual structure was tuned for accessibility and fast user flow rather than aesthetic decoration.
Rich Text editor
Users add, highlight, and format text with real-time control over font size, bolding, and inline markup. Advanced formatting sits one tap from the primary writing surface, which lifts engagement by handing users tools they didn't have to learn how to find.
Collaboration in Shared Notes
Notes open for simultaneous editing with visible contributors alongside the content itself. Live sync across users cuts content churn, keeps rewrites out of the loop, and pushes collaboration rate above what solo-first note apps ever reach.
GoodNotes Core feature
We led interaction design for the hybrid writing experience that pairs text, handwriting, and sketching inside a single canvas. The feature was built for the moments where structured input actually gets in the way, brainstorming sessions, lecture capture, unfinished ideas that need somewhere to breathe before they become paragraphs.
Free-form input reduces churn during open-ended tasks because it removes the format decision the user does not want to make. Draw, write, or type, whichever moves faster in the moment. The interaction was engineered to keep creative flexibility high without asking the interface to look busy in return.
About Neatsy Mobile UI UX
Neatsy is a mobile health app that runs real-time foot diagnostics through 3D scanning and delivers personalized recommendations against them. Users get medical insight, ongoing health monitoring, and footwear guidance from a single scan, and the entire flow happens on a phone rather than in a specialist's office.
Our team built the Neatsy interface around a single tension: how to blend clinical accuracy with a mobile UX design clean enough for a non-medical user. Scope covered the full ui / ux, wireframes through interface motion, plus brand consistency across every user flow. The result is a product that feels closer to a wellness app than a medical one, without losing the clinical rigor the diagnostic engine requires.
Neatsy Mobile App Enterprise Design
Neatsy generates footwear guidance by analyzing 3D scans of the user's feet and matching them against a catalogue tuned to fit, brand, and use case. The design system we built for the app handles navigation, visual feedback, and cross-brand usability, and the interface accommodates the specific complexity of medical data without asking the user to interpret it.
Our role covered interface prototyping, 3D scan integration screens, and the size conversion layer that translates raw measurements into brand-specific recommendations. Every micro-interaction was designed to hold clarity through what could easily become an overwhelming decision.
Size Conversion Tool
EU and US size equivalence sits inside a slider element that lets users adjust and confirm without leaving the screen. Interaction speed lifted conversion, and drop-off dropped, because the slider replaced a lookup users used to abandon halfway through.
3D Scan Ready
Users capture accurate foot scans in seconds, with real-time visual feedback showing scan progress and per-foot confidence. Medical decisions that used to require an appointment now sit inside a mobile session the user completes on the couch.
Brand Matching UI
Users compare sizes across Nike, Asics, and Under Armour on a tabbed interface that adjusts what it shows based on scan data. Selection efficiency lifted because the interface stopped asking users to translate between brand size systems on their own.
Designing for Neatsy meant turning medical precision into a simple and visual mobile flow.

About Personal Assistant app
The Personal Assistant app is a mobile tool built for the daily rhythm of personal finance, tracking funds, monitoring payments, running transactions, and surfacing real-time context around each one. Users stay informed on financial and shipping data without opening five different apps or logging into three different portals.
Our team led the UX/UI design across the project with a single priority: clarity that scales as the user's financial picture gets more complex. Interaction flows were simplified, interface components were built for quick access, and savings goals, challenges, and insights all live within thumb reach of the primary dashboard.
Personal Assistant app
The app gives users a visual layer over their savings, active challenges, and balance progression, wrapped in a layout that respects how quickly financial decisions actually get made. We designed the visual structure for user challenges, mapped the data visualization around savings, and integrated the personal voice assistant screens as a first-class input path rather than a bolt-on feature.
The interface holds up in both light and dark themes and keeps the primary actions accessible through voice or tap, whichever the user reaches for first.
Voice Assistant Interaction
Users speak finance queries and actions to the app rather than tapping through them. Natural voice input paired with lightweight feedback animation and minimal layout distraction produced higher conversion and stronger user satisfaction than tap-only alternatives at the same task depth.
Bitcoin Challenge Tracker
Users track savings in both USD and BTC through visual rings and personal tags. Group contributions surface with color-coded visuals and identifiers so shared goals stay legible without forcing users to interpret a data table.
Personal Assistant Challenges
Balancing advanced financial functionality with a minimal aesthetic was the central design tension across the whole project. Every added feature carried a real risk of user overload, so the layout logic held to a strict principle: if a control did not serve the current task, it did not appear on the current screen.
Accessibility in dark and light themes required detailed system tuning to preserve visual clarity across both. And building a Personal Assistant UI that felt genuinely helpful rather than intrusive meant designing custom voice interface flows from scratch, with retention and engagement metrics driving every micro-decision the voice layer had to make.
About S&I app
S&I was built to consolidate investment management and asset tracking inside a single mobile dashboard, aimed at users who actively handle securities rather than passively check on retirement accounts. The app improves visibility into market performance and portfolio status by treating both as continuous surfaces the user can act on, not just observe.
Our team led the full S&I ui / ux, from layout wireframes through visual styling into interactive prototypes. Real-time balance updates, stock monitoring, and simple usability all served the same higher goal: giving investors a mobile-first surface where decisions could be made without the app becoming another thing to think about.
S&I Mobile App UI design Process
We designed responsive UI components with high contrast, readable type, and actionable touch targets that lift conversions and lower drop-off across the main flows. Session length rose alongside the simplified layout and the direct navigation path to financial data, which is the pair of metrics that separates a working investing app from a stale one.
Track Portfolio Shares
Users see price changes on every asset at a glance, with Apple, Netflix, and Amazon displayed with percentage shifts and current value clearly resolved. Dark-mode card layouts support focus and reduce eye strain during longer sessions.
Financial News Feed
Company-specific news updates in real time, filtered by the companies the user chooses to follow. This lifts retention because market changes arrive with the context that makes them actionable.
Add Tracking Companies
Users add Google, Amazon, or any other listed company to their tracked set through a floating button pattern that keeps the add-to-track action within thumb reach at all times, lifting the conversion from browse to track measurably.
S&I Problem statement
The original S&I product lacked clarity in content hierarchy and visual consistency, most acutely for new users who were still learning the vocabulary of securities. Interactive elements like Top up and stock tracking were not discoverable enough to earn a first-session tap, and the UI needed to streamline access to core actions while improving how related data grouped together on-screen.
01 – Low Discoverability of Core Actions
Users could not quickly locate key interactions like adding stocks or opening news. We restructured the UI to prioritize those actions visually, which reduced drop-offs immediately after the fix shipped.
02 – Fragmented Data Presentation
News, balance, and tracked shares felt disconnected from each other, so users had to hold the relationships in their head instead of on-screen. We implemented grouped card design and consistent scroll behavior to connect related data across the interface, improving engagement by 31% against the pre-redesign baseline.
About Veri Mobile App Design
Veri, the Healthcare CGM Tracker app, gives individuals a direct interface to their own glucose data, with monitoring, analysis, and sharing all inside one workflow built for the daily rhythm of diabetes management. The app supports better care by treating the user as the primary decision-maker rather than a data source waiting for a specialist's interpretation.
Key Task
The central task was building user-centered design for the Veri project through disciplined ux research. We ran extensive user interviews to understand the needs and preferences of the target audience, and every design decision was pressure-tested against user feedback across the length of the project rather than at the end of it.
Veri Best Mobile App Design
The Veri UI UX was designed for simplicity of use at every scale. Users view upcoming tasks, set reminders, and mark items complete in a few taps, without opening deep menus for the actions they run every day. Complexity that belongs in the analysis layer stays in the analysis layer; the daily surface is deliberately quiet.
Scan Reminder
The reminder feature keeps users on track with their glucose monitoring routine, prompting scans at the right time without becoming another notification stream to mute.
Real-time feedback
Intuitive navigation lets users track changes over time without friction, and real-time feedback loops encourage consistent use, lifting engagement across the daily monitoring cycle where CGM apps live or die.
Veri Core Feature
The app syncs with a wearable CGM device to deliver personalized recommendations tied directly to what the body is doing in the moment. Users get insight into how meals and movement shape their glucose response, which turns generic advice into decision-ready context.
We simplified the device pairing process and cut drop-off through clear visual cues at every step. This feature carries the app's daily-use case: longer sessions, higher active use, and the kind of engagement that only shows up when the design respects the user's time as much as the technology respects their data.
About Subway AR Navigation app
The Subway AR Navigation app applies augmented reality to a category most tools still fail at: getting around underground. Route overlays, travel card management, and multi-stop planning all live inside one interface built to work in environments where GPS drops out and signal fails.
Our team led the complete ui / ux, threading AR route overlays into a mobile app UI design process that prioritized usability, visual hierarchy, and clarity across a category where confusion is the default. The result is a working interface for the complexity of underground transport, without asking users to learn a new mental model to move through it.
Subway AR app Design
We designed an interface that carries transport interaction and payment tools inside the same seamless flow. AR overlays surface route tracking and real-time data like speed, ETA, and directions inside subway tunnels where standard maps stop working. Payment integration with Apple Pay and Google Pay brings travel card management and top-ups into the same daily surface users already trust for other purchases.
The UI stays modular and structured, with a responsive card system that lifts interaction rates and cuts friction across every user flow the app supports.
AR Technology
The app uses augmented reality to overlay information about the subway and directions directly on the phone screen. Virtual pointers mark stations, transfers, exits, and other landmarks in real space, cutting the cognitive load of translating a 2D map to a 3D environment.
Payment integration
The app integrates with Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other wallets so users can top up travel cards through the payment methods they already use daily.
Subway AR User Challenges
Subway AR users struggle with a shared set of failures the category rarely addresses head-on: poor in-tunnel navigation, fragmented payment systems, unclear route visibility, and no real-time interaction with the transport network they depend on. These UX gaps increase confusion, break engagement, and slow down trip planning in exactly the moments where speed matters most.
The Subway app was built to close each of those gaps directly, with UI UX design for mobile that treats the underground as a genuine design constraint rather than a special case to work around.
About WellBeings app
WellBeings, the CBD Inhaler App, is a mobile companion for connected CBD inhalers. Users track sessions, control dosage, and personalize intake against their own needs, all inside an interface that respects both the safety requirements of the product and the daily rhythm of its use.
The project goal was simple in principle and demanding in execution: simplify user interaction with a smart inhaler device without compromising safe, optimized CBD usage. That balance drove every design decision, and the case is a working example of best mobile app design in a category where user safety and interface clarity have to move as one system.
WellBeings app Design
WellBeings was built to help users utilize their inhalers effectively, follow recommended patterns, and derive maximum benefit from daily CBD use. The interface holds real-time inhaler connection, temperature tracking, and dosage visualization inside a single unified system. Device pairing completes in a single step, usage tracking runs quietly in the background, and data-driven recommendations respond to how the user actually behaves rather than a static protocol.
The UI UX improved usability and conversion by simplifying every interaction users touch and by giving device feedback that never leaves the user guessing about state.
Connecting the device
The app maintains high-level data security and confidentiality across every session. Dosage data, results, and personal settings are all stored encrypted and protected against exposure.
Customization
Users tune CBD dosage against individual needs and preferences, and preferred settings save for quick access and repeated use across sessions.
WellBeings UI Solutions
Simple pairing visuals, real-time feedback, and dosage highlights carry the user through the moments where connected-device apps most often lose them. Quick access to device data lifts retention, and the clarified onboarding sequence cut initial churn measurably. Two solutions did the heaviest lifting.
01 – One-Tap Device Connection
We introduced a visual Bluetooth pairing flow that connects the CBD inhaler to the phone in a single tap. Onboarding friction dropped, drop-off during setup fell, and the first-session activation curve straightened noticeably.
02 – Personalized Dosage Interface
The dosage tracking screen surfaces real-time stats like usage level, temperature, and dosage intensity in a layout tuned for session use. Clear, actionable insights during each session lifted engagement and gave users a reason to open the app after their initial curiosity had faded.
Result
The conceptual work on enterprise mobile applications drew recognition the studio's portfolio rarely sees at this pace. Over its first year, the project reached 400k views, sparked more than 200 comments, and received 5k+ likes, engagement numbers that signal the design approach connected with a real audience rather than sat on a shelf. The case successfully proves that enterprise tools can be reimagined with cleaner UI, better usability, and a modern visual system without compromising the depth the workflows require.
Across seven concepts, the same digital transformation held its shape. Note-taking compressed to instant capture. Medical diagnostics moved from clinic to pocket. Personal finance collapsed into voice-first interaction. Portfolio tracking rebuilt around real-time card layouts. CGM monitoring simplified the daily loop. Subway navigation turned tunnel confusion into AR clarity. And CBD dosing translated a medical device into a mobile session users could actually complete. Each concept is a working demonstration of what enterprise-grade functionality looks like when the phone stops being a secondary surface and starts being the primary one.
