Defining clarity and brand presence

  • For the configurator, we chose typography that promotes readability and reinforces Porsche’s premium, modern image. The font supports clear hierarchy without distracting from visual content or interaction.

    Color choices balance Porsche’s iconic palette with digital needs-deep blacks and sleek grays provide contrast, while signature red highlights guide attention and emphasize key actions throughout the interface.

Understanding driver expectations

  • During the user research phase, the team identified key challenges users faced while navigating car configurators. By gathering both qualitative and quantitative feedback, we revealed how users make decisions when customizing vehicles.
 We were able to gain a deeper understanding of the users' real needs and expectations throughout the configuration process.

      Struggled with overloaded layouts and unclear options, revealing a strong demand for a cleaner, more focused interface. Users often felt lost and distracted by too many elements, which slowed progress and hurt overall satisfaction.

    • 56% of respondents

      Said it was difficult to preview real-time visual updates while customizing. This signals the need for responsive, high-fidelity feedback that makes configuration changes instantly visible across the model.

    • 75% of users

      Mentioned issues with tracking selected features and packages throughout the process. They wanted a smarter, better-organized summary view to manage selections and stay in control from start to finish.

    • To better understand the day-to-day experience of our users, we conducted in-depth profile analysis of key personas engaging with car configurators. One such profile is Daniel Weber, a Porsche enthusiast and tech-savvy buyer who values control and visual accuracy during selection.

      By observing Daniel's usage behavior and gathering direct feedback, we were able to identify both the strengths of the current interface and the main areas for refinement.
