About the project

When a home has at least one “smart device” installed, it can then be referred to as a “smart home”.

Once you start installing multiple smart devices, they can be programmed to interact with each other. This way, you can automate many aspects of your home.

Light Controls Mobile app

Lighting control made simple

  • Light Controls UI uses a user-first design, focusing on clarity, speed, and fewer steps for common lighting tasks. The interface emphasizes fast access to essential controls so users can make adjustments instantly without navigating through complex menus.
From the home screen, users can quickly adjust brightness with a simple slider or step controls. This allows precise changes for different situations. They can also switch between lighting zones, like the living room, kitchen, bedroom, or custom areas, with one tap.
This makes it easy to manage many spaces from one place. In addition, the home screen gives direct access to ambiance presets. These are pre-set lighting scenes like “Relax,” “Focus,” “Movie Night,” or “Reading.” Users can quickly set the right mood without changing several settings.

Key Features

    • Card-Based UI Structure

Interactive cards serve as a powerful tool to simplify complex choices. This design pattern replaces long, confusing lists with a modular layout that feels both modern and organized. By breaking down information architecture into small, digestible pieces, you reduce the mental effort needed to make a decision. Each card acts as a self-contained unit of value, allowing a visitor to compare features or services.

    • Zone-Based Navigation

Interactive floorplans turn a standard home automation interface into an easy navigation map. It mirrors the layout of your living space. This design shows each room as a separate, clickable zone. It greatly reduces the mental effort to find a device.

The UI makes it possible to locate and change settings with minimal taps. Users can simply touch a bedroom or kitchen area to immediately access the lights, temperature, or security features.

This modular approach to navigation creates a seamless experience that feels natural to every family member. Instead of digging through multiple menus, a person can rely on their spatial memory to manage their environment.

    • Smart Widget Controls

Widget-style controls transform a standard settings menu into a dynamic command center that prioritizes immediate action. By organizing parameters like brightness, temperature, and mode, the interface allows users to make comfy adjustments.

Each widget acts as a high-visibility touch target, designed specifically for clarity and speed. This layout ensures that the most important features stay exactly where a person expects to find them. This creates a more responsive and fluid digital experience.
