The process

  • We were baffled by the actual size of the platform Muse held. Imagine Zoom with additional dashboards from different audio software platforms. Long story short - massive load of information. So we worked out a strategy. To act on it, we had to identify main pain points of the platform.

Platform Pain Points

  • Scale

Muse had to have a capability to host hundreds of people in one conference at the same time. For us, that means 1) simple interfaces, 2) easy synchronization, 3) design that leads, not confuses.

  • Dashboards

Audio software platforms are usually cluttered because of the amount of options for audio manipulation. We wanted to have a unique take on these dashboards - organize them, unify them, simplify them. We implemented complete customization options as it is a feature in demand for artists.

  • Muse simplified dashboard and tutorial design - organized interfaces built on structured ux research methods

Ease of Entry

  • This was a separate issue we had to work on. While working out the user flows, we developed a scenario, where new users would have to use Muse without any previous experience or a registration. These were the targets we had to hit with our design.

  • ”

We asked ourselves - what can we do to make new users not struggle?

Outcomes

  • Muse turned out to be an extremely accessible, multifunctional, fun collaborative platform that engages artists from around the world to work on shared projects from the comfort of their homes or studios.

Results

  • High Adoption Rate

Users now can easily acquaint themselves with the product, join conferences without any prior knowledge on the platform, and use the platform consequently with ease.

  • Ease of Use

We managed to organize the dashboards in a way that would help the user work more effectively.

  • Simplified Navigation

Visual highlights, animations and videos help users navigate the interfaces with ease.
