Fitness App UI Design | Veri Glucose Tracker, +42% Adherence

Too Long;
Didn't Read

+42% scan adherence after a redesign that tied glucose readings to daily habits. Here is what changed:

  • Habit link. 71% of users asked for activity-linked insights, so the fitness tracking app ui design puts workouts and meals beside every reading.
  • Fewer gaps. 64% missed scans without reminders. Customizable prompts closed that gap.
  • Category fit. A rare case of apps that track nutrition, movement, and glucose in one flow, and a useful source of fitness app design inspiration.

Client's Request

  • We need a mobile app design that helps users monitor glucose levels in real-time with less friction. The app should simplify sensor scanning, provide activity-linked insights, and give users a clear view of how lifestyle impacts blood sugar.

About the project

  • Veri Healthcare CGM Tracker is a mobile app that connects to a continuous glucose monitor and shows how daily life moves blood sugar. A small sensor sends readings to the phone. The app turns them into trends and ties each change to a meal, a workout, or a night of poor sleep. That link is the product. A raw glucose curve tells people that something happened. Veri tells them why, and what to try next.Β

The audience is health-conscious adults who want a fitness and nutrition app with real metabolic feedback instead of step counts and calorie guesses. Most of them are not clinicians and do not want a clinical tool. They want a quick scan, a clear card, and one useful takeaway. Our task was to make that loop fast enough to repeat several times a day, so the habit holds after the first month.

User Challenges

  • Glucose data felt heavy. Readings arrived as numbers without context, and the patterns behind them stayed hidden.

Users pieced the story together by hand. Glucose lived in one place, workouts in another, and meals in apps that track nutrition that never talked to the sensor. Spotting a link between a late dinner and a morning spike took guesswork and patience. Most people ran out of both within a few weeks.

Key Pain points

    • Fragmented Tracking

Meals, exercise, and glucose sat in separate logs. Without one view, users couldn’t see cause and effect, which is the whole promise of a health and fitness tracker app.

    • Reminder Fatigue

Scan reminders fired at random or not at all. Some users muted them out of irritation, others never saw them, and both groups missed the checks that mattered.

    Valuable Insights

    • We grounded the work in ux research: moderated usability sessions combined with in-app analytics. The same three requests came back from every group. Users wanted simpler reminders, tracking tied to activity, and glucose trends they could read in a second. Those three requests set the brief for the fitness app ux design.

    Major Findings

      • 71% Of users requested activity-linked insights

Seeing glucose next to a workout or meal turned abstract numbers into choices users could act on. This finding shaped the fitness app dashboard design.

      • 64% Missed scans without reminders

When notifications failed, tracking gaps followed. Each gap weakened the trend line users relied on.

      Our Solutions

      • We rebuilt the core loop around speed. Scanning now takes a few taps from any screen, and each reading opens a visual glucose card that shows the trend, the likely trigger, and the activity around it. Reminders follow the user’s own schedule instead of a fixed timer.

The fitness app interface design keeps every screen lean. Activity metrics sit directly under the glucose curve, so the link between movement and blood sugar reads at a glance. Colors flag in-range and out-of-range moments without alarm language. The tone stays supportive, never clinical.

      • We focused on keeping each interaction quick and repeatable, so users don’t abandon the scan flow during daily routines.

      Project Result

      • Adoption and engagement both climbed after release. Simpler scanning produced steadier data, and activity-linked cards helped users make better everyday choices about food, movement, and rest. For a category still built on separate logs, the shift to one connected view is a real digital transformation of personal health tracking. It also shows what fitness app ui ux design looks like when every screen serves a single daily habit.

        Client's Feedback

        • We’re planning to expand with adaptive versions for tablets and wearables. The current release proved that clearer insights increase adherence, and we want to continue building on this foundation with more integrations.
